Amanda Bossard was just out high school when she began her studies in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her career working in the commercial seafood sector in the year 1999. At the time she was employed in Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut boat. It was later converted into a fish tender. Bossard is now is married to Aritan and they have joined together to assert their claims to the industry. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable management of renewable seafood resources. Otolith was created in Philadelphia in the year 2000 by Bella Bossard and is currently mom to two boys with ages of 3 and 1 Bossard. She and her husband are separated by five months, plus more to allow her to concentrate on her finances as well as her environmental goals. Bossard, her son Andre and daughter Isabella are scheduled to return to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands for the salmon season. Hooks and lines are used to catch their fish after which they join Aritan to sell to local processors for two months. They then continue to grow their direct seafood sales via Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard was hired as a News 12 Anchor/MMJ and News 12 Brooklyn in November 2015.
